Terms

Terms of use

These terms are deliberately short. The service is free, collects nothing about you, and makes no promises about what it tells you beyond trying to be accurate.

1. The service

SEO Audit analyses a single web page you supply and returns a list of technical, on-page and accessibility observations about it. It is a diagnostic aid. It is not a certification, an audit report, or a substitute for professional review.

2. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Results may be incomplete, may be wrong, and may be based on a response that differs from what a browser renders.

In no event shall the operator be liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the output of this service.

3. Scores are estimates

The numeric scores are a prioritisation aid produced by static analysis of one response. They are not a Google ranking score, they are not comparable between sites, and a high score is not a prediction of search performance. Performance data sourced from Google PageSpeed Insights is Google’s own; everything else is generated by this tool. See About for detail on what is measured versus estimated.

4. Not affiliated with Google

This is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. Trademarks mentioned on these pages belong to their respective owners.

5. Acceptable use

Auditing pages you own or have permission to test is fine and is what the tool is for. The following are not:

  • Using it as a proxy to attack, overwhelm, or repeatedly scrape a third-party site.
  • Submitting URLs that resolve to private, internal, or otherwise non-public network addresses.
  • Circumventing rate limits, or attempting to use the service where you are not permitted to.
  • Redistributing the service as your own, or presenting its output as a certified audit.

Requests are rate limited. Abuse may result in a request being refused or an address being temporarily blocked, without notice.

6. Availability

The service runs on free infrastructure with no uptime guarantee. Audits depend on third-party services, including Google’s PageSpeed Insights API, which impose their own limits. A page too large to fetch, a site that blocks automated requests, or a rate-limited API may produce an incomplete report. Large pages can take considerably longer than the usual time.

7. Third-party requests

Running an audit sends requests to the audited site and to third-party APIs. You are responsible for having the right to do so, and for complying with the terms of any service you audit. See Privacy for what leaves your browser.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated. The version on this page applies to every use of the service from the time it is published. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

9. Contact
